Krautkramer announces its new USN-L & R series portable ultrasonic
flaw detectors that can be read easily in bright, direct sunlight
as well as in dark or poorly lighted conditions. The USN-L series
uses new transreflective technology that actually uses sunlight to
make the display more visible outdoors. L series instruments have a
fast 60 Hz update rate, and a fine screen resolution of
480 x 320 pixel density. Backlighting is used for excellent visibility
indoors or in dark conditions. Instruments in the series include the
USN50L and the USN52L, providing a choice of ultrasonic features to
address individual applications.
The USN-R Series features our high resolution EL display and includes
the USN50R and the USN52R instruments. They offer fine screen resolution
for picking up the smallest details in critical echoes. Display resolution
is nearly as sharp as analog displays. All are lightweight portable flaw
detectors weighing only 6 pounds (2.7 kg) with batteries and measuring
9.8" wide.

II - Transducers

Single Element Contact
|
Single Element Contact Transducers are longitudinal wave transducers designed
for general purpose manual ultrasonic inspection where test materials are
relatively flat and smooth. Contact transducers provide high sensitivity for
better penetration and are ruggedly constructed for extended service life
under the roughest testing conditions.
RHP Style Contact
AEROTECH Standard Contact Transducers are designed for abusive "scrubbing"
applications. The Gamma series are for applications where sensitivity and
penetration are essential. The Alpha series are designed with maximum bandwidth
for optimal axial resolution. The top performing RHP style probes feature
hardened cases (60 RC), durable wearplates and color coded grips for quick
frequency identification and comfort. All models have BNC connectors. The
CR models have right angle mounted connectors and the CS models are top-mount.

Angle Beams
|
Angle Beam Transducers are single or dual element transducers designed for
weld inspection or flaw detection when flaws have an angular orientation
with respect to the material surface. Weld inspections are performed using
shear waves refracted from a longitudinal wave by means of a plexiglass
wedge. Plexiglass wedges are designed to produce shear waves of a particular
angle in a specified material with minimal wedge noise.
MSWS Style Angle Beam
AEROTECH MSWS Angle Beam Transducers are removable miniature longitudinal
wave transducers designed to fit matching plexiglass wedges. Refracted shear
wave angles may be specified as required. All MSWS Transducers utilize
standard screws for fastening the probe to the wedge and are fitted with
Microdot connectors. High temperature wedges are for temperatures up to 400° F.
SWS Style Angle Beam
AEROTECH SWS Angle Beam Transducers are removable longitudinal wave transducers
designed to fit on standard, high temperature and snail wedges. Refracted shear
wave angles may be specified as required. The AWS series are designed to meet
or exceed all of the requirements outlined in AWS Structural Welding Code
D1.1. All SWS Transducers utilize standard screws for fastening the probe to
the wedge and have top-mount BNC connectors. High temperature wedges are for
temperatures up to 400° F
MSW-QC Style Angle Beam
Krautkramer Branson offers two series of MSW-QC Angle Beam Probes : Gamma Series
with piezocomposite elements and Alpha Series with monolithic ceramic elements. Benchmark
Composite™ Gamma Series MSW-QC Probes, using piezocomposite elements, produce high
gain, broadband signals which are ideal not only for fine grain materials, but are
especially effective on plastics, composites, castings and other coarse grain and
attenuative materials.
AEROTECH MSW-QC Angle Beam Transducers are removable miniature longitudinal wave
transducers designed to fit our "Quick Change" Series of plexiglass wedges. Refracted
shear wave angles may be specified as required. All MSW-QC Transducers are provided
with top-mount Microdot connectors.
