|
StressTel's T-Mikes
T-Mikes are quality economical instruments. We
recommend them for the cost conscious users with straight forward
applications.
|
|
Krautkramer-Branson's Meters
D-Meters are considered to the "PRO"
gauges used by inspectors that make a living with them and
those with difficult tests to perform. The DM-4
instruments can handle everything from very thin, small diameter pipes to thick
and highly attenuative materials. With the HT-1000 probe even pipes at 1,000°
F. can be measured. Krautkramer has D-Meter probes covering almost every
thickness testing application.

StressTel's T-Mikes
|
|
T-Mike (P) Programmable
|
The T-Mike "P" is simple and easy to use. . While being one of
the least expensive thickness gauges available, it is not a
"cheap" instrument. It is ruggedly constructed, environmentally
sealed, and uses standard AA batteries. The T-Mike "P" comes
with a two year warranty. We consider it to be the best value
in a ultrasonic thickness gauge for users who simply need to
measure bare steel pipes, tanks and structures.
The T-Mike "P" is programmed for one sound velocity (usually
steel). This fixed velocity means that a calibration is simply
a matter of "zeroing" the probe. Simply couple the probe to the
built-in probe zero block and the calibration is done. It’s
that simple.
|
|
T-Mike E
|
The T-Mike E is like the T-Mike "P" but includes a velocity
control to facilitate calibration when testing materials with
different sound velocities, such as Aluminum, Stainless
Steel, Monel, etc.
|
|
T-Mike ES
|
This instrument adds a minimum alarm together with increased
pulse repetition rate to the T-Mike E for detecting small pitting
when scanning.
While scanning, the green light turns to red whenever the instrument
measures below a preset minimum.
|
|
T-Mike EL
|
The T-Mike EL has a 40,000 point Data Logger and a unique B-Scan
graphical presentation of the scanned area. It's a great feature
for "seeing" what's actually happening with your material.
When you scan the material with the B-Scan on, it draws a cross-sectional
picture on the LCD display. When the probe is uncoupled, the minimum
thickness is displayed.
It's very helpful for evaluating the extent of corrosion and determining
whether you actually have a thickness reduction or have detected
inclusions and laminations in the steel.

DM4E
|
This instrument features a Probe Zero function that automatically
corrects itself for probe wear and probe temperature changes. It
also has 2 point calibration for the best measuring precision on
thin, thick or hard-to-penetrate materials.
The "MIN-CAP" feature on all Krautkramer DM4E models increases
the instrument's ability to detect pitting. This is done by
pulsing @ 25 Hz (6 times higher than most other gauges). When
the "Min-CAP" mode is selected, the DM4E's display is constantly
updating while the probe is scanned over the material surface. The
DM4E remembers the thinnest measurement encountered during the scan
and displays this when the probe is uncoupled. This feature is great
for "hot taps", drill tubes and many other applications requiring
scanning to determine minimums.
We recommend wear resistant probes FH2E(WR) fingertip and KBA506(WR).
|
|
DM4
|
The DM4 has added features including: Four power settings, Low and High
Pass Filters (for difficult applications), Hi/Low Alarms and a
Differential Mode for Q.C. inspections.
PLUS!! The DM4 now offers Through-Coating Thickness Measuring
Capabilities. You can now test painted tanks, pipes, etc., without
needing to remove the paint or make corrections for the paint thickness.
The DM4 is the only hand held thickness gauge available
with both through-coating and
pitting detection capabilities in one simple, easy to use, hand-held gauge.
|
|
|
|
DM4DL
|
The DM4DL adds Data Logging (5,390 points in 999 files) with both computer
interfacing and direct printer interfaces. Output is compatible with
Krautkramer's utility software, UltraMate™, Pipe+,
UltraPipe™, and EPRI's boiler inspection software programs.

Direct DMS
Communication: Simple, fast, bi-directional communication (send/
receive) is provided with the model DMS A-Scan thickness gauge's powerful
alphanumeric on-board data recorder. Thickness values, A-Scans, Comments, Header
Information, and Obstructs are communicated. An "Auto-connect" feature
automatically selects the proper COM Port and BAUD Rate virtually eliminating
communication problems. The DMS simply needs to be turned ON - no special
settings or menu selections are necessary to communicate!
DM4 DL, DME DL, DMP DL,
USN 50/52 Communication: UltraMATE now supports connection and download
of datalogger files from these instruments. Once loaded into UltraMATE, data can
be manipulated and exported.
Color Readings
Reports: displays or prints readings in color based on user assignment
of colors to thickness ranges.
Copy and Paste:
Provides a quick and easy way to get inspection data into standard spreadsheet
(Excel) and word processing (MS-Word, Word Perfect) programs. Time consuming
conversions to ASCII formats and export/import operations are eliminated.
Copying data and pasting it within UltraMATE is now supported. This may be used
to move data that was stored incorrectly when measurments where made.
Insert and
Append: allows locations to be inserted and appended in existing files.
Comparison of Files:
Provides an easy way to compare data files (old vs. new) on screen.
Point-by-point comparison showing delta between values and % changes, as well
as, a file summary showing average delta and % change.
Merge Files:
allows up to five inspectors to work on a large job (i.e. boiler and
storage tank walls) and then merge data into one single data file upon
completion of the work.
Direct UltraPIPE
Compatibility DMSMate and DataMATE III File Compatibility: UltraMATE
can both IMPORT and EXPORT thickness data to both DMSMate and DataMATE III file
formats. Saving thickness data to Tab, Comma, and Space delimited ASCII formats
is also available. This allows data exports for use with many third party tools
and applications.

III - HALL EFFECT GAUGES
|
|
MTM 10/20
|
The MTM 10 and MTM 20 handheld precision thickness gauges measure wall thickness
of plastics, glass, ceramic, and other non-ferrous materials quickly, accurately
and nondestructively.
Pinpoint wall thickness
measurement is achieved when a small steel ball is attracted through the wall to
be measured by the magnetic tip of a probe placed on the opposite side. The
instrument instantly displays the digital thickness of the area located between
the ball and the probe tip. Continuous measurements are carried out as the ball
accurately follows the probe’s movement along the contour of a part.
Thin walls and components having
extremely sharp curvatures are no problem since the small steel ball enables
measurement of radii down to 0.03" (0.75 mm). Applications that cannot be solved
by other measuring methods are possible with the MTM 10 and MTM 20 thickness
gauges. Proven applications include all non-magnetic materials - plastics,
glass, ceramic, nonferrous metals, wood, composites, etc. This technique offers
blow molders an easy, accurate and nondestructive method to test wall thickness
on sharp corners to ensure structural integrity of plastic bottles. Other
packaging applications include glass containers, aluminum cans and thermoformed
trays. Sampling, cutting and destroying parts are eliminated. Other difficult
applications such as nonferrous metal casting, e.g. aluminum carburetor bowls,
and plastic or rubber hoses can also be measured. Additionally, the gauges
measure coating thickness when optional probes are used.
Select from two instrument
models: The small, extremely lightweight, handheld gauges, weighing only 9.5
oz.(270 g), are easy to use anywhere. Both models have memory capacity to store
up to 10,000 readings. The PRT1 plug-in printer enables direct printout of the
data, including statistical evaluation. When used with the MTM 20, limits can be
set and histograms printed.
