CC-100 Electro-Magnetic Crack Detector

The CC-100 CrackChek is designed to easily detect surface cracks caused by stress, fatigue and corrosion in steel and iron parts and structures.

The principle of operation is based on measuring of the magnetic flux leakage field in the zone of the cracks.

The CC-100 has a number of advantages over the conventional eddy-current instruments:

- Grinding and other surface preparation is generally not required

- Cracks detection through heavy coatings (80 mil/2 mm) is possible

- Inspection of rough and corrosion-damaged surfaces

- Crack detection of welds and and adjacent heat affected zone

- Significantly less expensive than most eddy current instruments

- Significantly easier to use than eddy current instruments

- Only a faction of the price and much easier than ACFM

- No "edge effects"

The CC-100 is compact and equipped with an internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack. The probe is stainless steel and is wear resistant and easily protected.

The CC-100 is easy to operate and adjust. The instrument adjustment is performed by placing the probe perpendicularly on the test surface and pressing the "Zero" button. Than scan the probe over a reference notch or crack and adjust the sensitivity as needed with the < or > adjustment buttons. Set-up is accomplished in under a minute.

During operation, when the sensor crosses the crack, the instrument generates an audible alarm. Crack severity (relative depth) is indicated on the instruments L.E.D. bar graph display.
