Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing -  Why choose Sonotron?

Sonotron makes the first and only Phased Array ultrasonic instruments that I have seen that are both user understandable and user friendly.

I have been in the ultrasonic instrument business for more than 40 years and when I look at most Phased Array testers and hear the presentations I feel like a dummy. I simply can't get my head around the explanations that I hear. Well I found out that I'm not so dumb, what I have been hearing and seeing is to a large degree "smoke-and-mirrors" and just pain B.S.  It does not have to be so, Sonotrons PC based Phased Array Systems are relatively easy-to-understand and use and they are loaded with features to help you perform your inspections and record your test results.

True To Geometry Imaging

  • First define the weld geometry and dimensions using a easy to understand Grapical Interface (see below) 
  • Once the weld geometry is entered you are be provided with a intuitive ray tracing dialogue showing actual weld coverage with the proper probe location and angle steering range
  • This is followed by a live Sector-Scan with true-to-location defect indication.
  • To ensure detection of various flaw orientations several Sector and B-Scan tests can be performed simultaneously with use of the same probe and providing multi-group cross-section viewing and recording along the entire weld length.
