Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging
|
|
For Pipeline, Plant and Equipment Inspectors
|
| |
|
|
Radiatronics Thickness Gauging Courses are designed to help all thickness
gauge users do a better job with more confidence and accuracy.
|
- We don’t just go over how things are supposed to work in an ideal
world. We cover the real world situations that the inspector must
know how to recognize and be able to deal with effectively.
- We use many actual corrosion samples, not just test blocks.
- Our courses are offered on both a scheduled - regional basis and "in-plant"
- Course contents can be modified to meet your specific needs.
- Most of our students come to us on the recommendation of a sister plant or
co-worker who has attended one of our programs.

- Fundamentals of Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging
- Calibration - Why, how, when and how often?
- Test conditions - Exterior and internal corrosion
- Scanning speed - How fast can you scan and still detect pitting?
- Choosing the proper instrument, probe and couplant.
- Is it really wall thinning, or did you detect inherent material flaws such
as an inclusion or lamination. How to tell the difference.
Day Two - Level II:
- Through coating measurements
- High temperature measurements
- Testing different materials -test blocks or correction factors
- Special applications
- Accuracy, reliability & repeatability
- Data logging schemes
- Instrument selection: Digital Readout, A-Scan, B-Scan
Day Three:
- A-Scan instruments, i.e., DMS, DMS-2, T-Scope III, Thickness Gauges
- Data Recorders
- Utility, GridWare and UltraMate Software
ULTRASONIC THICKNESS GAUGING IS TOO IMPORTANT TO LEARN BY TRIAL
AND ERROR!
LET US TEACH YOU HOW TO DO
IT RIGHT.
